As questions come in - we’ll answer them honestly and in full. if you don’t like the answer, sorry in advance.
Derbyshire Poppy
Question - You are selling a Derbyshire Poppy, where does all the money go?
Answer: All of the profits from the Derbyshire poppy, every single penny, goes to Poppy Support Only the cost
of the pin is taken out of the collected funds to fund next years batch.
Question - Metal Poppy badges are already available, why do we need a Derbyshire pin.
Answer: We don’t! It’s a fundraising gimmick designed to cash in on the fact that people like the metal badges,
people collect them and people are proud to live, work and be part of Derbyshire.
Question - Can I buy them and resell them on eBay for my own profit..
Answer: Absolutely, you’ll be competing with us selling them on eBay though but we will have raised our funds
from it and other people selling them on just raises awareness. We all win.
Question - Can I buy bulk and get a discount.
Answer: Only if you are registered as a branch of the Royal British Legion and you agree to donate ALL profits to the Poppy Appeal
Question - Are the car stickers removable or permanent.
Answer:
They are glue free, much like many road tax holder and stay in place by being floppy enough to create a suction, they can be peeled off and leave no mess, sadly they can then be re-used.
Membership
Question - Can I join the Spondon Branch
Answer: Yes Please - Membership of the RBL has something to offer everyone, it’s a great way to give
something back to the community, it’s good for making friends, great for networking and raising money for Poppy support looks better on your CV than “watched a lot of telly”.
Question - Is it expensive?
Answer: £11 per year and a pint of beer a month! You get to drink the beer though.
